Boingo Wireless to acquire Concourse Communications Group
Wi-Fi access provider Boingo Wireless has announced that they are acquiring Concourse Communications Group LLC.
Concourse Communications Group LLC operates wireless access networks in some of the biggest airports in the USA.
The two companies however declined to reveal the financial details of this deal.
The market for these Wi-Fi service providers is pretty hot right now as more and more public places are getting these companies to setup hotspots in their areas to enable the users to access the net using their mobiles and notebooks.
In addition, as the VoIP based mobile phones become more popular, more people would subscribe for their services in the future.
The deal would see Boingo getting control of the Wi-Fi networks in 12 of the most high-traffic airports in the United States and Canada. These include three airports in New York, two in Chicago, and others including Atlanta, Oklahoma City, Toronto and Detroit.
This addition means that Boingo now offers Wi-Fi access at 225 airports worldwide through roaming access arrangements.
