Ford Figo, Nissan Micra and Volkswagen Polo set to ignite Indian market
Indian small car market would become much more competitive this year with a couple of new hatchbacks scheduled for launch.
Ford has already displayed their Figo small car that has been specifically designed for Indian market.
Nissan and Renault are working together to bring the Micra small car to India.
Volkswagen is also all set to launch the Polo hatchback. This is perhaps the most recognized models of the three and if priced right can sell in large numbers.
All these three models would compete with existing offerings in the market including Maruti Suzuki Alto, Maruti Suzuki A-Star and Maruti Suzuki Swift along with Hyundai Santro, Hyundai Getz and the Hyundai i10.
In addition, Toyota and Honda are also working hard on their own small cars that could arrive later this year or early next year.
