Salora brings TEAC brand to India
Consumer electronics manufacturer Salora International has signed on a brand-license agreement with Japan’s home entertainment system major TEAC.
This would enable the company to manufacture, market and distribute its products across India. TEAC would be providing Salora with the technical knowledge of its products as well as assistance in manufacturing them.
Salora would also be handling the marketing and distributing of the devices manufactured as part of this deal. Gopal Jiwarajika, managing director of Salora said in a statement on this deal: “TEACs initial offerings to Indian consumers would include televisions (plasma, LCD and others), audio-systems and a gramophone-record player that comes with an option to transfer music from LPs to CDs.”
They would be pricing these devices at competitive prices to attract the consumers to this new brand in India. Prices of TEAC audio-systems would range between Rs 6,000 and Rs 30,000 while the television sets would be priced between Rs 5,000 and Rs 17,000.
