Siemens establishes Greenfield steam turbine unit at Vadodara
Germany based technology giants Siemens has announced the establishment of its new Greenfield steam turbine unit in the city of Vadodara in Gujarat. This was also the 50th year anniversary of company’s presence here in the Indian market.
Siemens Ltd managing director J. Schubert said in a statement: “This is a happy and proud moment for us at Siemens in India. On our golden jubilee of manufacturing presence, we are happy to announce that we are setting up a Greenfield factory at Maneja, Vadodara at an investment of about Rs.300 million.”
He further added: “With high growth rate in the industrial sector coupled with deficit in the power supply, we see a huge potential for the small turbine business”. This new unit from the company is spread over a region of 6,500 square meters and would be manufacturing single-stage and multi-stage steam turbines for industrial applications.
Siemens expect this unit to start working by the end of the year and has further plans to expand its capabilities to double the production in the coming years.
