General Motors recalling 30,000 Chevrolet Corvettes
World’s largest automobile manufacturer General Motors is planning to recall more than 30,000 Chevrolet Corvettes.
The problem lies in the vehicles’ detachable roofs which GM says can fly off while driving!
This recall affects certain 2005-2006 models with painted roofs. The company said in a statement that the problem lies in the adhesive between the roof panel and magnesium frame.
The hardtop of the car weighs around 5-10 pounds and in case of a complete separation, the entire top can detach from the vehicle and might hit another vehicle.
The company and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have received 21 complaints from owners of this sports car though no injuries have been reported.
GM would be repairing the fault for free.
