Maruti Suzuki working on new engines for Alto, Wagon R and M800
Market sources are indicating that Maruti Suzuki India is developing a new engine range for their cheaper cars.
The company aims to update engines of their 800, Alto and Wagon R models.
The aim is to have cleaner engines which are more fuel efficient.
This new generation of engine is apparently codenamed YP3. Maruti has officially declined to comment on these rumors.
The company had recently updated the engine of their Swift model. The older 1.3 liter petrol engine was replaced with a 1.2 liter engine to make it compatible with the new emission norms.
