Canon has high hopes from the Chinese market

Canon is the world’s largest maker of digital cameras and they are targeting growth in the Chinese market in the coming years.

The company expects its 2006 Chinese sales to rise 30 percent from a year earlier. This would just be a continuance from the previous years as Canon is expanding their presence in this ever-growing economy.

Canon faces some serious competition from global players like Sony and Nikon but is confident about the Chinese market for growth.

Canon’s vice president for China Yasuhide Tamegai said in a statement on their expectations from China: “We expect China sales to grow at 30 percent this year.” No specific figures were mentioned but it gives a good enough idea on what they are expecting from this market.
