Sun Microsystems collaborates with NIIT
NIIT Ltd has announced that they are collaborating with the US based tech giants Sun Microsystems. The collaboration would help NIIT to introduce specialized education and training programmes for students in their institutes.
The two companies signed on an agreement and Bombay Stock Exchange has been informed of this update.
Sun Microsystems would help NIIT courses to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Sun technologies, tools, technical resources and curriculum on Java and Solaris platforms.
They would also help NIIT to offer a range of customized programmes to students through its network of IT education centers. This is good news for networking students enrolled in the NIIT institutes who want to get certifications in Sun technologies like JAVA and Solaris.
The two companies plan to focus initially on the Sun Java platform while Solaris would be addressed later this year.
NIIT Chief Executive Officer Vijay Thadani spoke on this new collaboration: “We are delighted to partner with Sun Microsystems. This alliance and our new curriculum will ensure that NIIT students continue to be equipped with skills and know-how on the latest generation of software development tools and techniques.”
