Dell to expand call center operations at Middle Tennessee
Dell is trying to please their critics in the home market by extending its Americas customer-contact operations. They have just announced their plans to increase employment at its Middle Tennessee facilities by up to 1,000 people.
The company also announced that Tennessee Titan rookie quarterback Vince Young would provide his support for the company’s Middle Tennessee TechKnow program. This is essentially an after-school curriculum that delivers access to technology and 21st-century skills to underserved middle-school students.
Dell had originally launched its Middle Tennessee operations in August 1999 and at that time, the company consisted of approximately 200 production, sales and call center employees. With this latest expansion, Dell’s Tennessee facilities will employ as many as 4,500 individuals.
They have invested more than $250 million in its Middle Tennessee operations and have also donated more than $3 million to local schools, libraries and not-for-profit organizations.
