Honda’s upcoming small car for India won’t be cheap
Honda India has stated that their upcoming hatchback model for the Indian market would be placed in the premium segment of the market.
As a result, it is unlikely to become a mass market product for the company.
Honda said: “Our small car project is very much on schedule. We have not decided the likely price or the engine capacity of the small car, but the small car will be positioned slightly higher than the volume market.”
Honda is likely to place this new model against rival models like Maruti Suzuki Swift, Skoda Fabia and the likes.
The company stated that they are not a volume player in India and are happy to cater to the niche segment.
