Oracle plans to acquire Demantra
Database market giants Oracle continue their acquisition spree as they have just announced their decision to acquire a 10-year-old company that develops supply-chain planning applications, Demantra.
This deal would help Oracle expand its supply-chain applications business as it is aiming to provide services to specific industries in the market to gain more customers.
By acquiring Demantra, they also gain C&S Wholesale Grocers, the second largest wholesale grocer in the U.S. as a new customer.
Some other big names using Demantra’s services include McCain Foods, Korbel and Welch’s.
Oracle has been acquiring small and big businesses since sometime now. They are aiming at expanding their product portfolio to beat the rivals SAP in this industry and Demantra happens to be one of the SAP’s Powered By SAP NetWeaver partners.
