IBM to triple investments in India
US based tech giants IBM has said that they are aiming at tripling their investments in India for future growth and expansion. This comes after a similar announcement from another US based group GE.
IBM would be investing $6 billion over the next three years, as India is slowly becoming a cornerstone in the global network of the world’s largest computer services company.
IBM Chairman and Chief Executive Sam Palmisano said in a statement that they would be building service delivery centers in Bangalore and create a telecommunications research and innovation center for IBM clients around the world.
They also have plans to increase their customer base here in India though not much was revealed on this aspect. Palmisano said in a statement: “If you are not here in India making the right investment … then you won’t be able combine the skills and the expertise here with skills and expertise around the world in ways that can help our clients be successful. I am here today to say that IBM is not going to miss this opportunity.”
