Continental orders 34 new airplanes from Boeing
Continental Airlines has said in a statement that they have ordered 34 new airplanes with a list price of $3 billion from Boeing Co.
These new carriers would increase its ability to serve long-haul routes and they would be able to stop using inefficient old generation planes.
Chairman and Chief Executive Larry Kellner added that the company plans to expand its passenger-carrying capacity 5 percent to 7 percent per year and they would keep on adding new planes to their fleet.
Continental added that it was ordering 10 more Boeing 787 Dreamliner jets, which doubles their previous order for this plane. This deal effectively makes them the largest buyer of this plane from Boeing.
