Genpact is the number one third party BPO

The business process outsourcing (BPO) arm of GE, Genpact has overtaken WNS to become the number one third party BPO service center in India.

The company recently got out of captive business and this has helped them to grow and overtake WNS to the top spot.

National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom) surveyed the top 15 third party BPO companies and WNS and Wipro BPO followed Genpact in the Indian market.

IBM-Daksh came at the sixth spot and Infosys’ Progeon was at seventh. TCS’ BPO unit was on the fourteenth spot.

Kiran Karnik, president of Nasscom spoke about this survey: “In 2005-06, the industry size and growth exceeded our forecasts, reflecting strong demand. The entire software and services industry is expected to record revenues of $36-38 billion in financial year 2007, we expect the ITES-BPO segment to continue its growth momentum and expect exports to cross $8 billion during financial year 2007.”
