Sify acquires Globe Travels
Web Company Sify has said that they are acquiring US-based Globe Travels, which is engaged in issuance of e-tickets in the India-US travel space.
The financial details of this deal have not been disclosed but it would help the company enter into the lucrative online travel business.
Sify would also gain an entry into the e-ticketing market, which is a high revenue segment and is growing fast.
Globe Travels was founded way back in 1993 and had an average of over 25,000 people per day on their site. The company posted revenues of over $11 million last year.
They have a ready customer base of around 100,000 members in the USA and this gives Sify a readymade market of potential customers.
