Toyota Motor dominates latest J.D. Power survey
Toyota is the second largest maker of automobiles after General Motors and more impressively have managed to keep quality levels at impressive levels as well. The company dominated the latest J.D. Power survey on automobile quality and took top honors in 11 out of 19 categories.
Porsche owners were the happiest as they faced fewest problems with their cars. South Korean automaker Hyundai also did well as they had cracked the top three nameplates for the first time.
US based automakers who are struggling to compete in their own domestic market were again a disappointing as they scored low in this survey results.
Joe Ivers, executive director at J.D. Power spoke about their research: “New vehicles today are often packed with new technologies that unfortunately can be complicated and frustrating for the average consumer when their integration is not well executed. In the eyes of consumers, design flaws can have as much of an impact on their perceptions of quality as can a defect.”
Toyota’s Lexus dominated in all the six categories it was nominated in. Lexus IS 250/350, ES 330, LS 430, SC 430 won in their respective segments in the car survey results. Lexus GX 470 and the LX 470 dominated in their respective SUV categories.
