John T. Chambers to become Cisco chairman later this year
John T. Chambers would become the next chairman of the network equipment maker Cisco Systems later this year.
Current chairman of the company John P. Morgridge is due to retire in November this year. Chambers is currently the CEO of the company.
After becoming the chairman of the company, Chambers would continue to retain the CEO position while Morgridge would become chairman emeritus. Cisco would continue to stay without a President for the time being.
Morgridge was the CEO of Cisco before he became the chairman of the company. He has been with this company for more than 18 years. He was the force behind the company IPO launch way back in 1990.
