Malaysia to setup a Visa office in Mumbai

The Malaysian government has confirmed that they are planning to open a visa office in Mumbai. They would also be granting multiple visas to Indians willing to travel to Malaysia for leisure and work purposes.

The aim of these new steps taken by the government is to promote tourism to Malaysia, as they want more travelers from India to visit the country. These new decisions were announced by Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia Mohammad Najib Tun Razak while he was speaking at the launch of the Malaysia India CEO Forum in Mumbai.

He added that the Malaysian government would help develop palm oil estates in overseas markets including India. He said: “I am upbeat about the cultivation of oil-palm estates here. A few issues, however, need to be sorted out and once those are out of the way, we can proceed.”

He also invited the Indian business groups to take advantage of Malaysia’s strategic location. Razak said that Malaysia could prove to be the ideal launching pad to enter the ASEAN market. Impressively, the GDP of this small South East Asian country matches that of India!
