Toyota showcases Toyota Tundra
World’s second largest automaker and the ever-improving Toyota have showcased their latest update of the Toyota Tundra truck aimed at the North American market. This is probably the only segment of the US market, which is still dominated by the US manufacturers like General Motors and Ford, and Toyota is now aiming to get its share of the pie.
Until now, most products launched by the Toyota, Honda and Nissan failed to impress the US buyers and Toyota has decided to fix that with Toyota Tundra’s latest edition. Toyota’s US sales unit head Jim Press spoke about it: “This is the beginning of a new business for us.”
The company launched this exceptional vehicle at the Chicago auto show and this model is bigger and has a more rugged look and a more powerful V-8 engine than existing Tundras. The market for such trucks has been stable unlike the markets for big sport-utility vehicles, which has been hit badly by the ever-rising fuel prices in the country.

Ford’s F-Series and GM’s Chevrolet Silverado were the top selling trucks in the US market last year and it would interesting to see how Toyota fairs with their latest product release. They had managed to sell just around 126,500 of the existing Tundra model last year. Ford and GM together had sold 1.6 million vehicles.
