Wal-Mart might close some stores in Germany

Retailing industry giants Wal-Mart has said that they are considering closing some of its shops in Germany as they are making enormous losses for the company.

The company said that they are examining all the loss making units in this market. This was confirmed in a statement by David Wild, director of the Wal-Mart’s German operations.

Wild said: “If in certain cases we come to the conclusion that we cannot make them profitable in the long term, we will close them.”

However, he clarified that they have no plans to move out of the market completely. Germany happens to be the third biggest market for the company after USA and Japan.

They have working in Germany since the last eight years and cannot afford to ignore this huge market.
