Hyundai Porter to take on Tata Ace
South Korean automaker Hyundai is now considering entering the commercial vehicle market in India with the launch of a one-tonne light commercial vehicle ‘Porter’.
Hyundai Porter when launched would take on Tata Ace heads on. This would not only create a brand new market for Hyundai, it would also bring some fresh competition in the Indian commercial automobile sector.
Tata Ace has been hugely successful for Tata and has little competition at the moment in the Indian market. The news of a probably launch of Hyundai Porter comes along with the news that the South Korean company would continue to expand in the Indian market with at least two new launches every year.
The company already sells the Porter vehicle in several countries and they would have to price it competitively to provide a decent competition to Tata Motors in India.
