Research claims online news readers more likely to shop on the net
Newspaper Association of America has said in a market research study that people who are frequent readers of news on the internet are more likely to shop online.
The study found out that Eighty-two percent of so-called “power users” have purchased something on the net compared to just around 55 percent of the users who are not so active in online information hunting.
This can be considered as good news for newspaper companies who are increasingly working on their internet presence to get a wider base of readership. This would also help them target more advertisers for their online additions as the market is seeing a massive boom.
The survey took views from 1,501 Internet users by phone and 9,576 readers of 10 newspaper Web sites.
