Nestle acquires Jenny Craig
Switzerland based Nestle has said in a statement that they are acquiring U.S. weight-loss company Jenny Craig. The deal is worth around $600 million.
With this deal, Nestle has confirmed that they want to expand into the high-margin nutrition and health business.
The company said that Jenny Craig had sales of over $400 million in the last twelve months and would help them offer prepared meals and exercise programs to dieters.
Nestle added that this deal would not dilute group earnings in the current financial year. They added in a press release: “This acquisition will … reinforce Nestle Nutrition’s presence in the USA, the world’s largest nutrition and weight management market.”
