Reliance Industries to invest big in West Bengal
Mukesh Ambani controlled Reliance Industries has plans to invest big in the state of West Bengal. The company is expected to make an investment of Rs 4000 crore in West Bengal.
This would be part of their mega-retail plans expected to be announced sometime later this week.
Mukesh Ambani is due to fly to Bengal to meet Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee on June 21. He would be discussing details of his plans to create an agricultural retail chain in the region.
The state would play a crucial role in the Ambani’s mega-retail plan as they plan to demand nearly 10,000 acres from the state government. The initial investment in this project can be as high as Rs 4000 crores.
Left government in the state should have little issues with this project as they are facing considerable attacks by opposition parties who complains that agricultural land in the state was being sacrificed for setting up industrial units.
