Martin Taylor leaves Microsoft to pursue other challenges
We just had news of Bill Gates announcing his plans to leave his day-to-day work at Microsoft to work for his foundation after 2 years. The latest news in is that another key Microsoft executive Martin Taylor has announced his plans to leave the company immediately.
Taylor was leading the company’s marketing strategy to challenge rival Google at a time when Microsoft is finding it hard to generate revenues from online services and products.
Microsoft has not revealed reasons for Taylor’s departure. He had been working at the software giant for the last 13 years and was appointed in March to lead marketing efforts for Windows Live.
He had worked with Microsoft chief executive Steve Ballmer on strategic projects and long-term planning in the past and was crucial to the company’s plan to succeed with their Live brand.
