Mahindra & Mahindra might setup a plant in Chennai

Indian automotive giants Mahindra & Mahindra is rumored to be considering setting up a new manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu.

This plant is expected to make the multi-utility vehicle Ingenio which the company plans to launch in the Indian market by 2008.

Mahindra & Mahindra is already dominating the Indian SUV market with their range of products including Scorpio and Bolero. So much so, that rivals Tata Motors had to massively slash the prices of their Tata Safari car.

As per market rumors, senior officials from the company are due to meet Chief Minister Muthuvel Karunanidhi to discuss the plans for such a plant.
