Microsoft now targeting Huawei for Android related patent licensing
Huawei has confirmed that they are in talks with Microsoft for possible deals for patent licensing for their Android powered devices.
Microsoft has already signed up deals with a couple of other companies including giants like HTC and Samsung.
Industry sources believe that the company takes a 5-15 dollar cut on every Android device made by these companies.
This cut is related to some patents which Microsoft owns and they claim Android infringe upon.
Huawei spoke about the talks: “Yes, Microsoft has come to us. We always respect the intellectual property of companies. But we have 65,000 patents worldwide too. We have enough to protect our interests. We are a very important stakeholder in Android.”
