Foxconn admits it broke Chinese labor laws
Apple Computers might find itself in a massive PR mess now that Foxconn has admitted to have broken Chinese labor laws with workers making Apple iPod digital music players in their factories.
Foxconn is one of the original equipment manufacturer for Apple’s iPod and they have now admitted that workers work about 80 extra hours each month. The Chinese government allows the companies to ask employees to work more than 36 extra hours each month. 80 hours a month is way above the permitted limits.
The company added that they pay the workers as per the minimum salary standards of the Shenzhen local government.
Li Zong, a spokesperson from Foxconn further said that Apple Computers had sent a special team to investigate but they found nothing wrong in their operations.
