Apple collaborates with Coca Cola for promotion on Apple iTunes

Coca Cola has planned to team up with Apple Computers to start a new iTunes promotional initiative. The company is aiming to promote their new calorie-free Coke Zero brand through Apple iTunes.

A possible deal between the two companies can see Coca-Cola-sponsored content appear on iTunes. Coke can also offer their customers discount coupons to shop on the digital music store.

Interestingly, this deal comes after Coca Cola announced that they were closing down their own Mycokemusic service. This digital music store was started in 2004 and offered 250,000 songs on sale.

Coke said that the popularity of Apple iTunes meant that it made little sense for them to keep their own music service active. Another interesting factor is that Coke’s rival company Pepsi had a similar promotional deal with Apple a couple of years back.
