Toyota Motor hires former GM man Steve St. Angelo for their American operations
Japanese automaker Toyota is growing fast in the North American market. And they have now hired a former General Motors Corp. production executive to run its main assembly plant in the region.
The company announced their hiring of Steve St. Angelo to replace Gary Convis today as president of Toyota’s plant in Georgetown, Kentucky.
Angelo had worked for General Motors for around 30 years. Convis has now been promoted to chairman position of the plants and he would now help oversee production operations of all Toyota’s North American factories.
Impressively, Toyota is building new manufacturing facilities at Texas, Indiana and Ontario to enhance their production capabilities in the region to 2 million units in the next two years. This growth should see them hiring more high profile candidates in the region.
