Honda to establish a new plant in Indiana
Japanese automaker Honda has said that they would be establishing their latest manufacturing plant in Indiana in US. This plant is expected to come at a cost of $550 million and it would help boost the production capacity for the company to meet the growing demand in this market.
This Honda plant would be constructed in Decatur County, near Greensburg, 50 miles southeast of Indianapolis.
The company was the first Asian automaker to start building cars in the US market and now trails Toyota in terms of sales. Honda now aims to grow by 16 percent in the US market to sell more than two million vehicles per year by the end of the current decade.
This new plant is expected to be ready in two years and would be assembling 4-cylinder vehicles. The plant would have a capacity of 200,000 vehicles and will employ 2,000 people.
