GM told to consider tie-up with Nissan and Renault
Kirk Kerkorian is one of the biggest investors in General Motors and he has now told the company to consider a three-way partnership with Nissan and Renault.
This advice came after Kerkorian had a discussion with Nissan and Renault Chief Executive Carlos Ghosn who had expressed interest in acquiring a stake of up to 20 percent in General Motors.
This revelation helped GM gain in the stock market as the market expects this move to help the recovery process for the company.
A possible deal between the three companies would be good news for these automakers, as they would save a lot of money by combining their product development and supply operations.
GM said that they are yet to receive a formal proposal from Nissan-Renault but they would consider this proposal from Tracinda Corp.
