Steve Jobs does not want a salary from Disney
CEO of Apple Computers and the brain behind the massively successful iPod digital players Steve Jobs has asked Walt Disney to not pay him the $65,000 annual salary he is entitled to as the newest board member of the company.
After getting this request, Disney had to approve a modification of its director compensation policy. This was revealed in a filing Disney made Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Steve Jobs is already well known for taking a token salary from Apple Computers and Pixar. Instead, he prefers to take stock options or large ownership positions in his companies.
Disney recently acquired Pixar Animations Studios and this placed Steve Jobs on the Disney board. He also became the largest single shareholder in the entertainment company.
