Gustav Humbert resigns as the CEO of Airbus

Airbus chief Gustav Humbert has resigned as the CEO of the company. Airbus confirmed this in a news briefing.

The company quoted him saying: “The recently announced delay on the A380 production and delivery program has been a major disappointment for our customers, our shareholders and our employees.”

He further said: “As President and CEO of Airbus, I must take responsibility for this setback and feel the right course of action is to offer my resignation to our shareholders.”

Airbus’ parent company EADS said that they are replacing EADS co-Chief Executive Noel Forgeard with Louis Gallois who is currently the head of the France’s railway company.

Airbus is really struggling with the supplies of their aircrafts to their customers.
