Ford Motor in US down for the month of June
Ford Motor is the second largest automaker in the US market and they have just released their sales report for the month of June.
Ford reported that its U.S. sales of cars and trucks fell 6.9 percent to 269,404 in June.
This is down from sales of 289,449 a year earlier in the same period. This figure includes sales of imports and heavy-duty trucks.
This is however not bad as it was for GM for last month. The sales for GM were down by as much as 34 percent for the month. However, last year the month of June was exceptional for the company, as they had launched a special scheme letting the consumers buy a car on employee prices.
GM also has said that they don’t expect to match the sales for this month with the sales in July last year. Apparently, their recovery period is still going on. Toyota and Honda on the other hand are doing increasingly well.
