O’Hare International Airport is the busiest airport in USA
O’Hare International Airport has been named as the America’s busiest airport in terms of air traffic during the first half of 2006.
It has now overtaken the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport located in Atlanta as per the government statistics released on Monday.
The third place went to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. The two airports in Atlanta and Chicago have been the top two busiest airports in the country in the recent years. The number of flights at O’Hare was around 477,001, which was down somewhat from last year. However, this was still good enough to beat the airport in Atlanta, which registered 472,431 flights.
O’Hare is also due to get a major expansion by 2013, which should further boost the numbers for them to help them stay at the top in the United States.
