Isuzu collaborating with Swaraj Mazda to sell buses in India

Japanese automaker Isuzu has said that they are collaborating with Indian company Swaraj Mazda. This collaboration would help Isuzu enter the Indian commercial vehicle market.

Isuzu motors said in a statement that under the agreement with Swaraj Mazda, they would enter the Indian market through the local assembly and sales collaboration contract for medium duty buses.

It added: “The buses will be assembled by Swaraj and sold in India under the Isuzu brand through about 130 exclusive dealers of Swaraj.”

They would be delivering their products to the company as completely knocked down (CKD) kits and the project is expected to start from next year.

Isuzu has set themselves achievable targets. They are aiming to sell around 100 buses next year. This is further expected to expand to sales of 1000 buses by 2009.
