Starbucks to expand massively in Japan
Starbucks Coffee Japan has said that the company would be expanding their operations massively in Japan in the coming years.
The newly appointed chief executive Maria Mercedes M. Corrales said that they aim to open at least 100 stores in Japan every year.
However, for how long they aim to grow at this pace is not clear. Starbucks currently has around 624 outlets in Japan and they recently reported a 51 percent rise in annual full-year net profit. The company gained from profits on high-margin products.
Starbucks Japan has also forecasted further growth of 12.6 percent in the current business year. The company is 40 percent-owned by Starbucks Corp. of the United States.
