Serge Fortin is new president and CEO of SR Telecom Inc.
SR Telecom Inc. has announced that they are appointing former Bell executive Serge Fortin as its new president and CEO.
Fortin is currently working as an executive in Flag Telecom. He has also held positions in engineering, operations, sales and marketing at Teleglobe.
And he was once the president and CEO of Bell Actimedia. Impressively, he also held the position of president and CEO of Tata Teleservices, a telecom firm in India.
At SR Telecom, he would be taking over from William Aziz. SR Telecom said in a statement on this new appointment: “Serge will build on the new foundation that has successfully been established during the past year.”
It added: “These efforts have resulted in a strengthened SR Telecom, now well-positioned as a technology leader in the growing broadband wireless market. We thank Bill for the role he has played in restructuring the company and welcome Serge whose wealth of telecommunications experience and track record for success, particularly in international sales and marketing, will greatly benefit the company and our customers worldwide.”
