Fiat performing well in the Brazilian market

Italian automaker Fiat SpA was the top selling automaker in the Brazilian auto market for the month of June.

The month was not so good for the auto industry as the country was going through the football fever with the World Cup going on.

The company sold around 31,165 vehicles in June. They also dominating the sales for the first six months of the year with sales of 173,295 units.

These figures were released by the Brazilian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association. GM came second with sales of 29,608 vehicles. Volkswagen was third with 27,656 cars sold in the market.

Brazil was eliminated by France in the Quarterfinals of the tournament.
