Julian Day is new chairman and chief executive officer of RadioShack Corp.
RadioShack Corp. has announced that they are appointing former Kmart and Sears executive Julian Day as their new chairman and chief executive officer.
This news itself helped the company gain at the stock market as its prices soared by almost 13%.
Day would now replace David Edmondson who had resigned from the position earlier this year after he was accused of lying on his resume. Company’s president and COO Claire Babrowski was looking after these responsibilities during all these days.
Day has worked as chief executive officer of Kmart Holding and helped it to come out of bankruptcy. Thomas Plaskett, presiding director for RadioShack’s board of directors spoke about his appointment: “His extensive knowledge of retail operations and his experience in revitalizing some of the great American retail brands make him the ideal person to lead RadioShack as we re-establish its pre-eminent position in the industry.”
