Tesco might bid for a Polish retail business chain
TESCO is already the world’s fifth largest retailing chains and they are now rumored to be considering making a £554 million bid for the Polish retail business owned by their rivals Casino.
Casino has already committed itself to sell off E2 billion of their international assets by the end of next year to reduce its debts. They are the France’s second biggest supermarket group and have business operations in Brazil, Thailand and Vietnam.
Not only Tesco, even the French supermarket giant Carrefour is looking to acquire a part of the Casino’s international businesses. However, the retail stores in Poland remains the top priority considering the country is the biggest market in the Eastern Europe.
Tesco on the other hand are already the leading retail store operators in Poland and they would be more than interested in expanding their base in this country.
