Royal Enfield to become a separate entity detached from Eicher
Indian Commercial vehicle manufacturer Eicher Motors Ltd has said in a statement that they are planning to detach the legendary Royal Enfield division to turn it into a separate identity.
The company is also planning to rope in strategic and financial investors to further fuel the company’s growth in the Indian two-wheeler market.
Eicher Group Chairman S Sandilya spoke about this decision: “Our board has given us the approval to transfer the motorcycle business into a new company and subject to shareholders approval Royal Enfield will become a 100 per cent subsidiary.”
Royal Enfield Business would be established in the Delhi NCR region. Sandilya added: “We have not discussed about any potential partners or how much stake we will dilute in the new subsidiary. It will depend of the future requirements.”
