Sony Ericsson reports improved revenues as Walkman branded mobile phones a hit with consumers
Mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson has said in their revenue reports that their second-quarter earnings have nearly doubled.
The company has gained massively from the growing popularity of their Walkman branded mobile phones.
Sony Ericsson has also raised its global market forecast for 2006. They are already the world’s fifth largest mobile maker and are planning to improve on this front.
The company reported that its net profit rose 91 per cent to 143 million euros in the most recent quarter, which ended on June 30. This is a major improvement on 75 million euros in the same period in 2005.
Sales were up at 2.27 billion euros, which is a massive improvement on 1.61 billion euros a year earlier in the same period.
