Ford Motors might cut 24,000 jobs by end of 2007

US based automotive giant Ford Motors is said to be considering cutting as many as 24000 jobs by the end of next year.

These jobs cuts would mostly take place in their home market of USA where they are suffering from falling sales and profit drops.

A news report also stated that Ford is also likely to exceed its goal of cutting up to 30,000 hourly workers by 2012.

However, these are all rumors and the company is yet to comment on these reports. Ford spokeswoman Marcey Evans replied that she is not in a position to discuss estimates for how many jobs might be cut by the end of 2007 because Ford has released estimates only through the end of this year.

She added: “I think that we are doing quite well.”
