Hindustan Aeronautics Limited is ranked 45th in the top 100 Defense companies in the world
The list of top 100 Defense companies in the world released by US-based Defense News has placed Indian company Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) on the 45th spot. This is an improvement of six places from the last year’s list.
The list is headed by Lockheed Martin in the first position, which is followed by Boeing, Northrop Grumman, BAe Systems and Raytheon.
Defense News ranked the companies on the basis of their sales and turnover. HAL was at 51st spot in the last year’s list. The company said that the improvement is mostly due to a series of upgradation programmes and ongoing new projects.
HAL Chairman, Ashok K. Baweja added: “this is really encouraging for us and we are hopeful of breaking into the top 25-35 next year.”
HAL Director (Finance), D Shivamurti further said: “We will further our rankings next year and our current order book position is just a pointer to that.”
