Steel Authority of India Ltd to spend big on expansion of Bokaro

Steel Authority of India Ltd has announced their plans to spend Rs 20,000 crore on the expansion of their Bokaro Steel plant.

This is being seen by the market as a response to the investments planned by global steel leaders including Mittal Steel and Posco.

SAIL is planning to put up a 5 million tonne Greenfield facility at its Bokaro Steel plant. The news was confirmed by the officials at Bokaro.

BSL managing director V K Srivastava said that the plan is currently on the drawing board and they are going to progress on it after they complete its initial expansion entailing an investment to Rs 8,000 crore.
