English are the biggest online spenders in the European region
Market analysts Mintel have said in a study that people in Britain are the Europe’s biggest Internet shoppers.
The report claimed that British people spent almost 9.79 billion euros online in the year 2005. And this is a massive growth of almost 51% compared to the year before that.
The entire European market spent around 40.2 billion euros online. Nevertheless, it is still a minor part of the entire European retail sales.
Britain was followed by Germany in this category. Experts also believe that the spending on the internet is due to increase even further by 186 percent between 2005 and 2010.
Analyst Neil Mason said in his report: “Mintel is confident that online sales of goods will grow strongly over the next few years as this channel matures.”
