Nortel and Microsoft collaborating on selling new combined technologies
Nortel and Microsoft have announced that they are collaborating and would be selling new combined technologies to facilitate email, instant messaging, telephone calls and more services.
Nortel said that the deal would help the two companies accelerate the availability of unified communications in the market.
The two companies also aim to help the companies around the world transform their traditional business phone hardware systems into software based on a Microsoft platform and Nortel software products.
Nortel chief executive Mike Zafirovski added: “Nortel and Microsoft have each led fundamental transformations in their own market — Nortel’s digital innovation and Microsoft’s software on every desktop. By combining our unique strengths, Microsoft and Nortel will accelerate the delivery of unified communications.”
