Airbus manages to gain solid orders at Farnborough International Airshow
Airbus arrived at the ongoing Farnborough International Airshow with news confirming the delays in their deliveries.
However, the company still has managed to garner enough orders to outshine their rivals Boeing. The company announced that they have received orders for more than 60 new jets. This is more than the orders received by rivals Boeing.
However, Boeing managed to get more orders for their bigger planes. This means that Boeing has bigger orders in terms of market value as compared to Airbus.
Most of the orders placed with Airbus have been for their A320-family single-aisle passenger jets. Malaysia’s AirAsia ordered 40 of the planes and ILFC ordered six of these planes. Greece’s Aegean Airlines ordered another three.
Airbus Chief Executive Christian Streiff spoke on this impressive list of orders: “We are very proud to see a renewed order from Aegean Airlines so quickly after becoming a new Airbus customer in December 2005.”
